Located on the idyllic eastern shores of Loch Lomond at Rowardennan on the West Highland Way, Caol Gleann enjoys views to majestic Ben Lomond – the area’s highest mountain – from the rear of the lodge, while the lochside, beaches and jetty are just yards from the front of the lodge. The Lodge is within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and there is a ranger station nearby.
The well-appointed chalet is the perfect base for all outdoor activities ranging from watersports and boating to hillwalking, climbing and mountain biking.
The Rowardennan Hotel just a couple of minutes walk away offers a bar, restaurant and other facilities.

February 2024 – We are pleased to be welcoming guests to Caol Gleann Lodge on the shores of Loch Lomond. The Lodge is in a rural area with access to Ben Lomond, the West Highland Way and Loch Lomond We continue to follow the Scottish Government’s guidance for self catering accommodation through the short-term let license scheme to ensure everyone’s safety. Please check the calendar to see if your desired rental dates are available. Minimum stay is normally three nights. Please note that some dates shown as available may not be due to the time between booking enquiries and confirmations.

- Join us during the Holiday season December 2024 – January 2025
- First day arrival after 4pm, last day departure by 10am
- A deposit of £100 is required before any booking can be confirmed. A good housekeeping/damage deposit of £100 may also required for booking confirmation. The full rental charge is required within six weeks of arrival. Guests are responsible for any damage incurred during the rental period.
Well behaved pets are allowed at Caol Gleann but if extra cleaning is needed, there will be an added charge of £45.

Caol Gleann is located at Rowardennan; entrance to the park is off the C6 road, 5.5 miles north of Balmaha.
Caol Gleann is also known as Lodge 4 and is located on the right of the park entrance at Rowardennan.
From Glasgow take the A809 to Drymen, from Drymen take the B837 to Balmaha, and from Balmaha take the C6 to Rowardennan. The park is immediately before the Rowardennan Hotel on the loch side of the road. Most satnav systems will direct cars to the Rowardennan Hotel.
The C6 does not continue north past Rowardennan.
